Privacy policy 

Finish with the Right Stuff is a NSW Ministry of Health program. This policy explains how and why your personal information is collected, how you can access your information and how your information may be used by Finish with the Right Stuff or given to other parties.

What personal information is collected?

Finish with the Right Stuff and their service provider will collect any personal information you provide when you contact or register for the program. Examples of personal information Finish with the Right Stuff collects include, but is not limited to:

  • your name
  • your contact details
  • your or your child’s sporting club
  • your role within the club
  • the type of sport
  • the club suburb or postcode

Who is collecting this information?

Your information is collected by the Finish with the Right Stuff team and their Information Technology service provider.

What legislative protections apply to your information? 

The NSW Government is required to collect, store, use and disclose your information in line with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW) and the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW). NSW Health is required to comply with these Acts, as well as other applicable legislation relating to personal information and health information. Information held by an Information Technology service provider on behalf of Finish with the Right Stuff is protected by the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth). 

Who will have access to your personal information? 

Your personal information can be accessed by NSW Health. It may be given to any other party who needs your information for Finish with the Right Stuff to be delivered, managed or evaluated. We will not give your personal information to any third parties  for any other purposes unless we are legally obliged to do so.

How is your personal information used?

Finish with the Right Stuff will use your personal information to register you in the program, communicate with you about the program and deliver, manage and evaluate the program. As required by relevant privacy laws, your personal information will not be used or made available for any unrelated purpose unless lawfully permitted or you provide your approval.

We may use your personal information for Finish with the Right Stuff management purposes including for funding agreements and contracts, evaluations and audits, and for staff training purposes relating to Finish with the Right Stuff. Our Information Technology service provider only uses your personal information if required to provide technical support for the Finish with the Right Stuff website and other information technology used by the Finish with the Right Stuff program. If we need to disclose your personal information for a reason other than the reasons for which it was collected, this will only be done if it is required by law or with your consent.

Other information collected when you use this website 

When you visit this website, Finish with the Right Stuff records the following information about your visit:

  • the IP (Internet Protocol) address of the machine which has accessed it
  • your top-level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .edu, .au, .uk etc.)
  • the address of your server
  • the date and time of your visit to the site
  • the pages accessed and documents downloaded
  • the previous site visited
  • the type of browser and operating system you have used

This information is aggregated with the logged information of other visitors to the website. It may be used by the NSW Ministry of Health to identify patterns of usage to inform improvements to the website. The NSW Ministry of Health will not disclose information that identifies individual machines, or sub-groupings of addresses, without consent.

How do we collect this information?

Cookies

‘Cookies’ are small pieces of text data that a web server can store on, and later retrieve from, a user’s computer. They do not personally identify you, but do identify your browser. Cookies can be either ‘persistent’ or ‘session’ based. Persistent cookies are stored on your computer, contain an expiration date, and may be used to track your browsing behaviour upon return to the issuing web site. Session cookies are short-lived, are used only during a browsing session, and expire when you shut down your browser.

This website uses persistent cookies.

They record your preferences in relation to your use of the website and provide us with other information about your enquiry that allows us to recognise your browser if you return to this website in the future. This allows Finish with the Right Stuff to present information that may be most relevant to you based on your previous visits. They also help Finish with the Right Stuff to understand what parts of the website users find the most useful and improve the effectiveness of the website.

The cookies on this website do not read the information on your hard drive. They do not make your computer perform any actions or make your computer send information to any other computer via the internet. Finish with the Right Stuff make no attempt to associate cookies with users’ names or identities. Our server cannot find out your name or email address, or anything about your computer, by using cookies.

This website uses Google Analytics, a reporting service provided by Google, Inc. (‘Google’) and its subsidiaries. Google Analytics uses ‘cookies’ to help us analyse how users navigate the website. The information generated by cookies about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity.

Google may also transfer this information to third parties, where required to do so by law or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Facebook Pixel use

Finish with the Right Stuff use Facebook remarketing pixels to aid in customised, targeted follow-up advertising. Finish with the Right Stuff may display interest-based ads to you when you are using Facebook through Facebook’s Custom Audience Tool. This tool allows us to personalise our ads based on your interests, demographics, location and any previous interactions with us.

This website uses the Conversion Tracking Facebook Pixel to allow us to follow your actions once you have been redirected to the website via clicking on one of our Facebook ads. This assists us in recording the effectiveness of Facebook ads for reporting and market research purposes.

The data collected through the Facebook Pixel and provided to us is aggregated and remains anonymous, meaning that we cannot see the personal information of the individual user. However, the collected data is also saved and processed by Facebook and used in accordance with Facebook’s Data Use Policy.

Finish with the Right Stuff may also share information about your use of this website and your interactions with our Facebook ads with our trusted social media, advertising and web analytics partners, including Google Analytics.

Facebook Conversion Tracking also allows Facebook and its partners to show you advertisements on and outside Facebook. A cookie will be saved onto your computer for these purposes.

A privacy breach occurs if your personal information is misused, or accessed or disclosed without authority. You are entitled to apply for a Privacy Internal Review if you are aggrieved by a breach of privacy involving a NSW Ministry of Health or a NSW local health district.
